Media Mechanic founder Paul Ward was invited to participate this morning in a business round table with congressional staffers to discuss healthcare reform measures currently being considered in Congress. The event was covered by 2 local TV news stations: View the coverage

The round table consisted of 20 Portland area businesses and congressional staffers from Congressman David Wu’s office as well as from Senator Jeff Merkley. A representative from President Obama’s Organizing for America was also present to provide the President’s position on the issue.

The consensus of the meeting: all 20 businesses believed significant healthcare reform was needed this year.
