OHSU Kiatsu Research Web App
In 2017, Media Mechanic was contracted by the Northwest Ki Federation and OHSU to develop a HIPAA-compliant clinical research website. The platform required a secure patient portal where participants could log in weekly to record migraine symptoms and track the effectiveness of Kiatsu, a Japanese acupressure therapy. The study’s findings were later published in multiple medical journals and with the NIH, with Media Mechanic founder Paul Ward recognized for his contributions. The research demonstrated a significant reduction in migraines among participants using the treatment.
Media Mechanic handled the project’s management, design, and development.
